According to the India Book Market Report released by Nielsen the print book market in India, including book imports, at $3.9 billion. India is said to be the second largest English-language book markets in the world. The compound annual growth rate of the country’s market is 20.4% according to the Nielsen report. India’s multilingual and multi-geographical realities make it a very unique publishing industry, within which several publishing industries co-exist. This session will highlight the current trends in Indian publishing industry, its unique qualities, and the pathways that are leading it into the future.
